Here Comes The Sun!

With social unrest over fracking in the US and UK and oil related unrest in many parts of the world, with every part of the world experiencing the disrupted weather patterns predicted by global warming, efficient production of solar energy would be a boon to us all. This appears to be what scientists at IBM have created. They claim their High Concentration Photo Voltaic Thermal (HCPVT) system is capable of concentrating the power of 2,000 suns – maybe even up to 5,000. Greenpeace suggest that such technology could mean that an array covering just 2% of the Sahara Desert could supply the entire planet’s electricity needs. Yet still the Government talks down the potential of renewable energies and instead focus on fracking. With Big Oil being a controlling influence in the governments of the US, Russia, the UK and many more, it’s not hard to see why they persist in focusing on fossil fuel – while each year more people are pushed into fuel poverty!
